Raytheon UK Olympics 2024

Raytheon UK

In the summer of 2024, we held the Raytheon UK Olympic Challenge. This employee engagement campaign was designed to capitalise on a significant global event to bring together our employee population in a fitness challenge to build connection and camaraderie.

Combining our strategic strands of wellbeing, belonging and connection, the Raytheon UK Olympics spanned the duration of the Paris 2024 Olympics, from 26 July – 22 August, and encouraged people to get moving and work in teams with colleagues from across the UK, bridging the gap between our remote and onsite workers. The campaign included a range of communications content such as celebrating our employees’ individual sporting achievements, leaning into our military sponsorships and promoting our links to local businesses. We also included an in-person onsite sports day, taking place concurrently across our main UK sites. 13% of employees from across the business took part in the main challenge, eager to cheer each other on, as well as spur on friendly rivalries between functions. By the end of the campaign, 2,572 submissions were tracked totalling 21,881.84 across the month - the same as walking the circumference of Mars 1.7 times, swimming across the Atlantic Ocean 10 times or rowing the United Kingdom’s coastline 21 times. The positive feedback that we received from our employees demonstrated how the challenge provided them with inspiration and motivation, built good wellbeing habits and forged continued connections across teams.
