Free the Voices

Free the Voices is a groundbreaking campaign that used AI to create the first repository of diverse synthetic voices. Through Monoceros’ Fonos platform, 1,200 voice donations from LGBTQI+ individuals across 12 countries were transformed into authentic voices in four languages: Spanish, English, Brazilian Portuguese, and European Portuguese.

By combining advanced acoustic modeling and deep learning, the project broke away from traditional vocal standards to authentically represent diversity. These voices are freely available for use in digital content, demonstrating how AI can drive inclusion and reshape representation.
