Drew Herdener
SVP, Communications & Corporate Responsibility , Amazon
Drew leads Amazon's Communications & Corporate Responsibility organization, which includes the company's Communications, Community Impact, and Sustainability teams. Communications helps people inside and outside of Amazon learn about the company's unique culture, powerful innovation, and customer centricity that have a positive impact on our customers, employees, small businesses, partners, developers, the economy, the environment, and communities around the world. Amazon's Community Impact team harnesses Amazon's innovative culture, technology, and team members to address the world's most pressing challenges in areas including education, food security, affordable housing, and disaster relief. These efforts include using Amazon's vast delivery and transportation network to deliver food directly to the doorsteps of families in need; supporting global communities following natural disasters; investing in building and preserving tens of thousands of affordable homes through the Amazon Housing Equity Fund; and helping young people learn about STEM and computer science through Amazon Future Engineer. Sustainability uses science, technology, and materials innovation to help Amazon transition to more sustainable operations, transport, products, and packaging. Sustainability is also responsible for driving Amazon's strategy and programs to reach net-zero carbon by 2040 as part of The Climate Pledge, which Amazon co-founded in 2019. Drew joined Amazon in 2003, and has held key positions including Vice President for Corporate Communications, Vice President of Public Relations for Amazon Europe, Director of Public Relations for Amazon Web Services, and Director of Public Relations for Devices and Digital Content. Drew earned his bachelor's degree in English and Mass Communications from Seattle University, where he serves on the Board of Trustees.
