Andy Checo is Managing Director, PR and Social at d expósito & Partner (DEX), leading workstreams for Nielsen, Tajín, and McDonald's. Checo has over 20 years of experience connecting brands to diverse audiences and specializing in the U.S. Hispanic market. He joined DEX from Weber Shandwick where he worked on brands including Avocados From Mexico, ABInBev, and Ancestry.com. While at Weber, Checo was recognized by the agency's Latino BRG with the 2022 Leader Change Agent Award. That same year, Checo was named a Distinguished Communicator of Color by the Diversity Action Alliance. He has worked both agency side, developing innovative and award-winning programs for an impressive number of brands including Jaguar Land Rover, Heineken, TurboTax, The Hope Depot, Johnny Walker, and Chase Bank, to name a few, and in-house through his work for publicly listed and privately held companies, including Maximus Inc., Healthfirst and MundoFOX. Featured in the books Diverse Voices: Profiles in Leadership and Business Acumen for Strategic Communicators, his thought leadership pieces have been published on PRWeek and CampaignUS among others. He is a founding member of the Steering Committee of the Diversity Action Alliance, a coalition of Public Relations and communications leaders joining forces to accelerate progress in the achievement of meaningful and tangible results in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Checo is the past president of the Hispanic Public Relations Association and currently serves as a national board member.
